Painful experiences ignite powerful passions

Hi everyone 👋🏾,

I planned to blog about something else; relationships, identity, friendship, the usual. I didn't plan to blog about this, no one was expecting for this to happen. I was heart broken to hear the news. It happend so suddenly. I didn't want to believe it. 💔 Yet God knew

Two days ago, my dear friend, Hope passed on to Glory. She was battling leukemia for 2 years. She was in her early 20's, a recent college graduate, so young and barely started living her life.

I was scrolling on social media when I saw a mutual friend's post. As they described sweet memories they shared with her and I say RIP. I read and re-read the post, thinking I misunderstood something, this can't be right?! I was in utter disbelief! There was no way this was real!

We were hoping for Hope's healing! It's so ironic that her name is Hope. Everyone, her church family, (or rather the entire west Philly Church Community), her family, especially her parents & 5 sisters, and a host of friends; were all hoping she would leave the hospital with the AMAZING, PROFOUND testimony that "Hope had Leukemia, but now she is cancer FREE because of God's divine healing power!!!" We hoped God would heal her! We had hope for Hope!

But God did heal her. As I sat with the family last night, I listened to her parents share their experiences at the hospital. I watched her poor father as his tired eyes still managed to embody an ounce of strength he carried for him and his family through this season. As he reminisced with her mother, I remember him saying "By His (Jesus) stripes, we are healed. Jesus went through so much pain, but the stripes He bore on the cross healed us spiritually; redeeming us from eternal damnation". I thought to myself, as I watched the sleepiness in his eyes and thought, 'WOW! That actually makes sense! We are healed!' Hope was healed, although it didn't happen as we expected, it to happen, she was healed from all the sorrow, hurt, and pain she endured in this world from Leukemia. I'm confident that she is in Heaven and in utmost peace with our Father. 💖

Just because things don't go as we plan or our prayers aren't answered how we expect, does this mean we lose hope in God in the sovereignty of who He is?! Absolutely NOT!

Look at Job, He lost EVERYTHING he had! His wealth, he possessions, his beloved children all simultaneously! Often we see the trouble he faceed (or that we go through, but don't see that God is trying to teach us something. Job became bitter after his losses; he complained, hated living, he was depressed and so upset; Job lost hope.

It's easy to complain in hard times. Job even demanded his friends to let me him complain! It feels good, but it doesn't help the situation, AT ALL! Job's response was wrong, he acted as if God owed him something! Because he was a "good decent man" God doesn't "owe" us anything! This taught Job to rethink his position as a mere person. It's as if He truly forgot how GREAT, PERFECT, AMAZING, and ALL POWERFUL God is! God surely reminded Job who He is! (Read Job, chapters 38-42)

God appeared to Job as a whirlwind! He told him he pierced a leviathan (demon) And had it beg for Mercy! One of the many ways God demonstrates His power. He controls the sun, moon & stars! He knows the secret wonders of nature & the world!

Dispite of all our hardships and painful loss, God is still good! He is still loving and He is all powerful! Sometimes the hardships we go through test our faith, it test our hope. Do we really have Faith that God will do what He said He will do? Do we really believe that by the bloody, sacrificial, stripes of Jesus Christ we are fully, spiritually, emotionally, and physically healed? Or are we swayed by our feelings or what we see? It doesn't make human, logical sense to trust in God when things happen that we don't understand, but our understanding is limited! We are not God! He is! Yahweh is sovereign and incontrol & it doesn't make sense to doubt the One who world the world in His hands, the One who controls time & space💖! He wants us to rest our mind's, not to get distracted by the storm, but confidently trust in Him, alone! Even in the middle of the a disheartening storm! 💖🔥🙏🏾

In Hope's last social media post, she declared her healing with SOOO much confidence in who God is! She said, "I can say with confidence He is going to heal me, he's healing me. Wednesday, May 20, 2020, I've claimed my healing! Today is my victory date! I'm getting ready to see something I've never seen. He's Able! He Deserves It! I'm Putting A Praise On It! Regardless! I'm Making Room For Him! A Table For Two. Things Are Turning Around For Me! God's Got It! I Got It! He's An On Time God! All Hail The King! I Want It All Back! ALL MY HEALTH BACK! We All Gon Be Alright! Breathe y'all! God is the Living Word! No Weapon Formed Against Us Shall Prosper! Victory Belongs To Jesus! Withholding Nothing, we have to surrender it all! I Surrender All! He Turned It! His Amazing Grace! He is My Cornerstone! And He Doesn't Stop! Psalms 42! As the deer pants for the water, so my soul needs you Lord! Getting My Breakthrough! Lord You're Mighty! Praising Him In

Advance! Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Hope was always full of spunk & sass and amazing sense of humor; she exuded confidence! It's what everyone naturally loved about her. Yet it was her hope & confidence in God that will made a lasting impression!💖

I still have hope for Hope! I know that God gave Hope a legacy that will live on with her dear sisters, her parents, ALL of her friends, possibly the entire West Philly Community, and BEYOND!

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28 NKJV

God affirmed his hand on this situation when He put this verse my spirit as my family & I left the Wells house last night. God is still in control, even in the midst of heartache. I still have hope for Hope 💖

If you would all be so kind and keep her family (Wells Family) in prayer 🙏🏾💖 If God places it on your heart, please donate to support the cause!
